The Workshop

Made by hand, in a 16th-century barn.

Every piece in this shop is cut, built and finished by Mark in our workshop at The Old Grainstore — a 16th-century barn near Chichester, and home to Granary Digital's studio, edit, podcast and photo spaces.

Nothing here is warehoused or drop-shipped. It's made to order, to the same standard we build our own studio sets to. When you order a flat or a plinth, you get the thing a working carpenter makes for real productions — not a flat-pack approximation.

The way we build

Every flat we make uses the same braced frame — vertical stiles, toggle rails at 600mm centres and a diagonal sway-brace in each corner, skinned one side in ply. It's why our flats stack, rig and read the same across a job, and why the braced back looks identical every time.

Display pieces are filled, sanded and sprayed to a hard 2K finish. Grip kit is cut from tough ply and hardwood and colour-coded in our green so it doesn't walk off set. Bespoke work — desks, pods, conversions — is drawn, built and installed to your brief.

The greens

You'll see two colours through everything we make: Deep Green and Modern Green. They're Granary's, and they're how you know a piece came out of our barn.
